  • Region: South Eastern
  •  Country: Australia
  • Year: 2014

  • Shop/wine critic/winery review: A classic blend of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. Medium-bodied and very approachable with soft tannins. Fruit-forward flavors of plum, cherry and blackberry are accented by notes of spice with more juicy berries on the finish.
  • My review: On the nose there is a very strong dark red grape smell. It also has a lot of spice smells surrounding the grapes, two of which are black pepper and lots of cloves. On the palate initially I am hit with pepper that follows throughout the whole sip. There is also a juicy mixed berry flavor that is hard to pick apart. The finish has a distinct blackberry taste that clears away the pepper flavor making the sip very enjoyable by the end.
  • Food Pairing: I did not have any food paired with this wine.
